2004 :: The Joe Mama Election Campaign

Yes, in 2004 i and a few accomplices actually made up a bunch of signs (like the politicians do) and stuck them all around Suffolk County (that's on Long Island in New York for those who don't know). What was i trying to accomplish?...you figure it out :^)

3/2004 :: my latest composition; Kitchen and Melophone

This is a piece for kitchen, actors, melophone, and computer(using max/msp). the main thing looks something like this:

the program loads in sounds from the kitchen and loops them according to a formula derived from the dimentions of the objects that made them. meanwhile the actor and melophone player interpret the sounds and perform actions depending on how the sounds make them feel. there is a melophone transposer that gives the performer the ability to play harmonies and loops also based on his/her reaction to the sounds and the formulae used in the sound manipulation. that looks something like this:

overall it's a fun piece that incorporates structure, chaos, improvisation and a written score within a theatrical performance peice. how many of those can you say you've seen lately :^) big props go out to the lovely judy for helping me complete this in time for the 2004 NOISECAPE Festival; you are the bomb diggy diggy dig WHACHITNOW! :^)

2003 :: right! yea yea...so the second album is done, there are a bunch of new songs i've been playing and the next cd will most likely be a LIVE one.

yes, the project was fun, but due to retarted people it wasn't quite what i had envisioned. do not fear! there will be more fun like this in the future. for example: i'm working on live video manipulation while i perform live. it will be like a backdrop to the show and the video will be based on whatever is happening in the audience. sounds kewl doesn't it? well it is kewl; very kewl.

oh yea, as you know i use looping extensively in my performance. well the comercial tools for this type of thing suck so i made my own. so now i have a custom analog/digital foot controlled looping tool that will kick your patoot. don't believe me? then you'll have c 4 urself...SUKA!

a multi-state tour is in the works! what states and where? dude, how am i supposed to know? stay tuned...
